Glowforge Laser

Book an appointment to use the Glowforge Laser Printer.

-Remember to bring your own materials to use with the machine.
-Prepare your design files prior to the
appointment. [Glowforge is compatible with JPG and PNG 'bitmap' (to engrave
only), but works best with SVG 'vector' (to cut & score).]
-You will be provided access to the Glowforge
App during your appointment in order to upload your designs and edit the cut
& engrave settings.

Dye Sublimation

Book an appointment to use the dye sublimation printer and heat press.

-Prepare your designs ahead of time and save
them to a personal external storage device in any of the
following file types (.jpg, .jpeg, .png, .bmp, .heic, .heif, .tiff,
.pdf, .eps, .ps.), with a minimum resolution of 300DPI.
-Polyester, polyester blend, and poly-coated items yield best results as dye sub ink is designed to bond
to these materials. Designs will show up best on a white
surface.

Sewing/CNC/Die Cutting

Book an appointment to use one of the following makerspace equipment:

• Silhouette Cameo | Vinyl Cutters
• Sewing, Embroidery & Serger Machines
• CNC Milling Machine

When booking your appointment, please specify which machine you will be using.

***We are excited to offer 3D Printing in person! One (1) Bambu 3D printer is available for booking through a different link. All other IDEA Lab printers are still offered on a drop-in basis during open lab hours.

Bambu Lab X1-Carbon Combo 3D Printer

PLEASE NOTE: If no reservations are available for the Bambu printer, all other IDEA Lab printers are still offered on a drop-in basis during open lab hours. Call ahead for any questions 619-236-8666.

Book an appointment to use the Bambu Lab X1-Carbon Combo 3D printer. Please keep in mind the following for your appointment:

-Have your .STL file prepared prior to visiting the IDEA Lab
-Be prepared to monitor your print in the lab for the entirety of the printing process
-Maximum print time is three hours
